To design, prototype, and produce a durable gun housing for an arcade machine with discontinued parts. The housing needed to withstand heavy, repeated impacts from customer use. Our client approached us after running out of replacements, with existing units frequently breaking under pressure and no viable alternatives available.
Nexform began by reverse-engineering the broken housings, developing multiple prototypes to ensure internal components fit correctly and the machine operated as intended. Once basic functionality was achieved, we moved into real-world testing using a selection of high-impact-resistant resins. Through ongoing feedback and iterative improvements, we adapted the design to better withstand stress and continued refining the part using live performance data.
Our client can now keep their arcade machines fully operational, significantly reducing downtime and maintenance costs. The new housings ensure machines continue generating revenue while delivering a high-quality experience to customers. We now provide a cost-effective, on-demand 3D printing solution that supports the longevity of legacy arcade systems.
